World Famous Beer Bottle Christmas Tree

On December 13th, the club celebrated the holiday season at Don’s new home (also the home of the world-famous Grolsch Bottle Christmas Tree). Close to 40 people attended the party.

Over 20 people participated in our first gift exchange. Some people exchanged beer brewing ingredients and equipment - including a bottle capper and bottle caps that Don’s father used. Others exchanged beer, magnets made out of bottle caps, and lottery tickets.

Several members brought home brew and others brought some special beers to share. We had a spruce beer from Shorts Brewing Company and some special Belgian beers from Cantillon. There was plenty of food, too.

The annual holiday party always includes a lot of laughter and leaves us with a lot of great memories. For those members that couldn’t make it this year, we hope to see you next year!

  • Chad’s Club Brew on December 7th was successful (but the yeast-to-fermentables ratio may have been a little high).

  • On December 1st, the club had $1,378.62 in the bank account.
  • Medici has agreed to keep our sample glasses and wash them for us. But, due to the increased participation in the club, we rarely have enough glasses for each member to have more than one glass. We may purchase additional glasses and storage/dishwasher racks. Please feel free to bring your own sample glasses in order to maximize your enjoyment of each beer sample.
  • Some members expressed an interest in creating a Pretzel Boy position.
