Holiday Party: December 2008
On December 13th, the club celebrated the holiday season at Don’s new home (also the home of the world-famous Grolsch Bottle Christmas Tree). Close to 40 people attended the party.
Over 20 people participated in our first gift exchange. Some people exchanged beer brewing ingredients and equipment - including a bottle capper and bottle caps that Don’s father used. Others exchanged beer, magnets made out of bottle caps, and lottery tickets.
Several members brought home brew and others brought some special beers to share. We had a spruce beer from Shorts Brewing Company and some special Belgian beers from Cantillon. There was plenty of food, too.
The annual holiday party always includes a lot of laughter and leaves us with a lot of great memories. For those members that couldn’t make it this year, we hope to see you next year!

Hey, I’m looking for the owner of the Grolsch x-mas tree. I’d love to make one, if I can get my friends to drink enough Grolsch this year haha.
I have some questions though, perhaps you, or the owner, would be willing to help?
1. Is it just lit up with christmas lights, or is something built into it?
2. Are those glass plates in the middle?
3. Are there bottle in the middle of each layer? Or is it just a single or double layer around the edge of the glass plate?
